Dick: We're in luck, Thad. Matilda's still here, and look, there's Sampson and Walter! Thad: I don't know how you keep them all straight, Dick. Dick: Well, there are only 73 whooping cranes on Matagorda, Thad. Besides, they're as individual as you and I. Color, markings, behavior patterns, each bird has its own eccentricities. For instance, Sam there is gay. And Tilly won't eat water beetles unless they've been strained. And Walter spends a lot of time with the ducks. Thad: And all this is condoned by the wildlife service? Dick: It's a sanctuary, Thad. Thad: I think I'm beginning to understand the whooping crane's brush with extinction.
I knew this would happen, anyone have a link to see what happened to Duke?
