Ah, the ever-popular Parental Amnesia Syndrome. My parents had it through most of my life. Fortunately, there were my Uncles not only knew all, but told much.
That “Commune” was a lot more about Lack of Rent Money than anything else..You can get Amazingly Low Rent on any house with 12 Bedrooms and only One Bathroom..

The two most non-hippies — football player B.D. and cheerleader Boopsie — were probably the only ones getting any at Walden back in its glory days.

Rude little bastid! Actually kids would probably be shocked at what their parents did for fun.

Zonker was about the only resident who was into regular use of drugs, as I recall, and never the hard stuff.

My parents had sex three times. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

Yeah, but they were living at Walden Commune again when Sam was conceived, even if it wasn’t a commune anymore. So Boopsie’s statement is still a lie.

Sam was born in 1992 so she’s a bit old to be a college freshman. (Then again, time in “Doonesbury” is very very fluid…..and so was Walden Puddle!)

Zonk did the occasional dose. He had a nightmarish bad trip featuring Mark Spitz.

@GodfreydanielShe was stuck at 10 years old for almost a decade. Then she jumped from 12 to 18 in 2 years.Leo’s and Alex’s boys are “growing up fast.”

This isn’t true, though. Sam was conceived in L.A., not Walden.
