Boy, are you in for disappointment. But then again, you’re probably partially responsible for it.

His Walden education also left a lot to be desired.

I don’t usually read these old strips, but this is one which probably works better in retrospect.

Rick, you might want to rethink that one.

As a journalist, isn’t his job supposed to be uncovering the truth? He sure is good at deluding himself,

I love how he played with the images in these older strips. And the bunny is awfully sweet.

“Cat’s In The Cradle” was redone by Ugly Kid Joe, although, to be fair, would you want to spend time with a kid named Ugly Kid Joe?

I grew up during the cold war. When I got to an age when i could understand I remember being horrified at the heartlessness of reports of Soviet children being raised in communes so their mothers could work “for the glory of the State.” Now kids are raised in communes (although today they sleep at home) so their mothers can work for the glory of….???

“The cat’s in the cradle and the silver spoon, little boy blue and the man in the moon…..But we’ll get together then, dad. We gonna have a good time then”.

The meaning behind those lyrics are the core of the lives for so many uninvolved parents who wonder why their adult children don’t come around. This dad is away even though he is home. Jeffrey needed a vivid imagination.

Rick never went to Walden. Joannie met him while she was managing her friends campaign for congress

A Math/history question; As I wander through the old family letters and other communications of an era gone by, it was the siblings that ‘raised each other’ with love and respect while the father toiled and the mother did what she could to make this nation as great as it is.Now that we’re down to the Gummint’s recommendation of 2.1 children per family unit (when and if they’re married, IF father can be found/named/indicted and Muslim-muscle direction to propagate as many children as possible as allowed by The Gummint, when will the point be arrived at that when a battlefield enemy shouts to what’s left of us; “Die, American Bastards !!!”…and a Corporal turns to his Lieutenant and asks; ‘Hassan, what’s a bastard?’

Not a statement, just an observation from an 80 yo’s way things are going, for I don’t want to be kicked off a politically-oriented strip that was kicked off the Comics Page onto the Op-ed Page way back when. I grow weary of snarky ‘progressionism’.. Kids, get some mileage on your meters before you grow out of yourselves.
