I doubt anybody takes honorary degrees seriously. They just offer them to get a celebrity to show up and make a speech. However, some universities are waking up and taking back Bill Cosby’s honorary degrees.

I do kinda wonder how it’s possible to pal around with Vegas bigshots without getting chummy with a few gangsters…

I didn’t know Sinatra, but from what I’ve read he was vain, arrogant, rude, adulterous, bullying, mendacious and just downright unpleasant.

Frank Sinatra saved my life too! I was in a parking lot at a Vegas casino, down on the pavement as two big goons kicked me repeatedly. Then Frank said “Okay, boys, he’s had enough.”

I guess “The Sopranos” wasn’t so far off in their depiction. I remember there were actually some Sinatra family appearances and references.

Here in the Midwest, the Stevens Institute is a complete unknown. MIT is the best known school, the Milwaukee Institute of Technology.

In other crime news, 2 Milwaukee cops who got shot in the face are suing a gun shop owner according to CBS news. It should be interesting to see if it becomes a landmark case.

What about Jane Fonda?

BTW, any reason why Trudeau is bringing this all up just when Sinatra is about to turn 100?!

Sinatra was a good singer. He brought joy to his listeners. I bring joy when I stop.

Jane Fonda is a good actress. I am not fond of some of the things she has done nor all the things I have done. She does it her way.

Night-Gaunt49 GoComics PRO Member said, about 21 hours ago@OlongapojoeHow did Trudeau smear Reagan * Sinatra?
The smears were for ‘Sinatra’ – if you associate with criminals, you must be one. Did anyone ever charge or convict Sinatra with organized crime activities? For ‘Reagan’ – The insinuation of the strip that it was wrong to honor ‘Sinatra’, due to his association and friendships with known mafia members. Both right and left leaning pundits have done this and wish to “police” what anyone does – if they had their way what a rigid society we would have.

Occasionally I think to myself: “I can remember back to when Doonesbury was funny.” Now that they are running all of these old strips I realize that Doonesbury was never funny.

Then why are you reading it? Or commenting on it? Save yourself the trouble.

I just had to run in here to tell everybody how little I care! Because i care about not caring. I’m mature that way.
