3 channels, black and white, and I had to sit by the TV because it was my job to stop the rolling when it started. But there was Roy Rogers and Howdy Dooty.
At one time I had only 2 English channels and 2 French channels. Now nearly 50 years later, I’ve got more high-def channels than I know what to do with, and nothing worth watching. Who needs Tevo?
No, it doesn’t constitute a horrible childhood… in fact it constitutes a wonderful one. For the record, we had two channels (CTV and CBC), and if the rabbit ears were just perfect we could sometimes pick up WLBZ TV In Bangor really fuzzy. And we children were the remote controls…
We had four or five channels on rabbit ears. When I was six, Mom and Dad took it off for the summer. And never re-attached it. So I read books and watched movies from the library.
I remember ABC CBS and NBC, an antenna with a rotor so we could turn the antenna in the direction the station was coming in from. Test patterns with an Indian on it.

As Yakov Smirnoff said: In Soviet Union we had only 2 channels…Channel 1 was propaganda, Channel 2 said turn back to Channel 1.
