Dogs are great like grandkids. Someone else’s. Your yard becomes their toilet, you’re obligated to exercise whether you feel like it or not and, being social creatures, need to not be left alone or they’ll be miserable.

Agreed. I’d rather have a dog, a rabbit, a guinea pig, a hamster, as well, than to deal with a baby.

No college fees with dogs! That’s how my ex-wife and I thought about it. : )
