Some years ago, a vet had suggested marshmallows as a DIY form of pill pocket for some pills I needed to administer to a large dog I used to have. Unfortunately, in spite of the likely gelatin content and the known penchant that particular dog had for sweets (I generally had to keep such foodstuffs out of his reach as sugar is really not good for dogs), he didn’t find the marshmallows the least bit appealing (before I even bothered trying to put a pill in one).

Whenever I switch brands of dog food, my dog gets the ootie pooties.
However, maggot ridden road kill doesn’t bother him at all….
