Actually, pepper is mined from one mother lode— somewhere in Chile, I’d guess.

Even if what she’d read is true – what is her point? Certain coffees are harvested after the beans have been partially ‘digested’ by going through an animal’s digestive tract and its considered a delicacy. Peppercorns were at one time put in a burlap bag and tossed in a pool of water and left to ‘rot’ until the outer skin could be removed – this produced ‘white’ pepper. People are WAY TOO SQUEAMISH about what they eat! Or at least in KNOWING what they’re REALLY eating!

I thought that was about candy corn?
