John: Elly, just because you kept your 50th a secret, doesn't mean we can't go next door and celebrate Connie's birthday! Elly: Oh, I'll go. Everyone accepts these things differently. If she wants to shout "I'm 50" to the world, that's fine with me. I just wanted a quiet time alone, to contemplate my past, my present, my future...50 means that more than half of your life has gone by, John! John: I know And I believe the best is yet to come!
The difference is that Connie is celebrating her 50th, while Elly mourned hers.
