howtheduck – toilet bowls and tanks once were separate – throughout my childhood at least.
I’m not sure you can supervise anything or anyone 24/7, but I do agree the seat should always be down. I got into the habit from having cats who won’t touch water unless it is someplace gross, and the toilet is a favorite.
