Elizabeth so doesn’t want to lose her father from malaria or yellow fever.

Liz is afraid of a little mosquito. Don’t get me wrong – I hate them. They love to eat me. Whenever I camped with husband and our two sons, I always end up with mosquito bites along with one of my sons while my husband and the other son had none. Growl. But, hey, Liz. It was on your dad’s arm and he did not mind, why not leave it alone and learn some things about this pest insect? It did not do anything to you.

Was John trying to gross Elizabeth out by waiting until the last minute before smacking that thing to death? ;D

On camping trips, I’ve woke up many mornings, to see gorged mosquitoes sitting on the ceiling of the tent. No matter how much repellent you use, a few still get you.

Apparently, there’s no such thing as a “teachable moment”, either

If john was using a real teaching moment here, he should have picked a better word than “needle”.

The one good thing about my ex-husband. The skeeters loved him so I could sit in peace on the deck .. LOL!

T.A.N.S.T.A.A.F.L. The Moon is a Harsh Mistress. Robert Heinlein. 1966. Read it in high school and it’s as relevant today as it’s always been.

“Only females need blood…” Well, THAT explains the former wife… Thanks for clearing that up for me, Lynn.

This was the day that Liz learned that, like Elly, you can’t trust a man to get the job done right, so you’ll just have to do it yourself.

Apparently he knows everything about mosquitos except for all the diseases they can carry.

Comments here fall into two categories: Liz is bad for being afraid of and even swatting at that mosquito.

And category two: Good for Liz. Mosquitoes aren’t only a nuisance, but they carry some very serious diseases.

My son contracted La Crosse Encephalitis from a mosquito and had a stroke in three sections of his brain 5 years ago. Mosquito bites can be extremely dangerous.

For a guy with DDS after his name, that’s not too smart. Mosquitoes are not exactly transmitters of good health.
