Who cares? As long as she doesn’t believe in tofurkey, it’s all to the good.

I’d rather eat turducken than tofurkey. Why? If it’s made properly, it’s quite the delicacy. And duck is one of the most gloriously fatty birds you can eat.

What a mean women, whole family shows they don’t like her non-turkey dishes. Given them want, she have what she wants.

Oops, she is actually reading the recipe books. Given that Andi is an otherwise “paragon of virtue”, this is her “feet of clay” that makes her human.

^Yup. As ses1066 says, she’s pretty great in most other aspects. This is her Achille’s Heel, and Grandma is going to make her life miserable for the holiday by doing the cooking and making Andi feel like a failure.

If Andi had any sense at all, they’d just go to Grandma’s & let HER cook. Then everyone would be much better off. But of course, that’s the joke - if Andi were half as sensible as she thinks she is, she’d still be twice as sensible as she really is.

It’s her own mother who’s coming.

Andi’s mother is something of a Martha Stewart clone, and Andi therefore always feels driven to outperform her when it comes to the domestic arts, since she thinks that everyone expects her to be just like her mother in those areas (and Andi is all too aware that she’s NOTHING like her mother in those areas!)

Of course, Andi’s efforts at one-upmanship always end in disaster, which is why she gets so annoyed when everyone else starts dancing around and singing “Grandma’s coming!”
