Miss O'Malley: School's out until fall, Jason. Go home.
Jason: 146,455 minutes to go! I can't take it!
I cannot relate to this. I couldn’t wait till summer vacation, and dreaded going back to school. The “Back to School” ads, which came sooner and sooner each year, were like thumbnail screws to me.
“It’s late September and I really should be back at school….”
@Kroydali: Is that from Rod Stewart? That song was about like a thumbnail screw to me. ha. Yes, those ‘Back to School’ ads sent shocks through me when I saw them.
When my children came home at the end of the school year, one of the first things they did was to “play school”. Especially being the teacher and telling others what to do.
It’s all related to the SALE cycle for the stores. Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day/Father’s Day, Summer, Back to School, Halloween, Christmas….

That’s my 9-year-old daughter! She still has a few weeks of school to go, and she’s already lamenting the end of the school year!

I remember in one comic, Jason was excited that school was over and in another one he didn’t want school to start. This is just the opposite.

I always hated school because of the bullies.

I lost that feeling in about third grade – never found it again.

Don’t be so down. There’s summer math or science camp!

I never had that problem. I’m thinking the janitorial staff will have to kick him out once they start locking the doors.

Not only do they have summer school, but there are some jurisdictions that have year-round school.

nowadays, summer school is a punishment to the kids who didn’t get passing grades.
