I think this is taking it a bit too far. FoxTrot has always got most of its laughs for sibling rivalry, but this “parental approval” has got me thinking. At that age, I would beam, at that age, whenever my parents approved of something I did! Of course, my dad wasn’t of the kind that would say “good job!”, or “well done!” during every breath, which kind of made it more special. So knowing it is a comic, and not real life, it still plays with certain truths. And if this is a truth, I have to feel sorry for this “family” whose children disapprove of parental approval. Dixi.

When I showed my dad some of this week’s strips (11 years ago), he hoped Don Iguan would return. But this strip guaranteed otherwise.
