I DON’T wanna envision Roger Fox with a perm. I (emphasis on “I”) can barely imagine my father with a mustache in his early married days before my older brother and I were born (there’s a photo of him sporting one; makes me think he looks like Thomas Selleck).

My dad was half way to going completely bald when he was dating my mom.

sigh I LOVE photo albums. I often don’t even care if I know the people in them. That was one of the first things that caused my father-in-law & me to have such a great relationship: I loved photo albums, and he had lots of them. (RIP, Bud.)

My dad began losing his hair in his late twenties/early thirties (I’ve seen pictures) and never wasted time on regrets. He was 56 when I was born, and his hair was long gone by then, so to me, his baldness (as well as his being a little older than the other kids’ fathers) was just part of who he was. I lost my hair early too, and neither I nor my wife of 32 years have ever had an issue with it. Many more important things in life to worry about.

My hair turned white by 25, still have it at 59. I like looking through photo albums an knowing who we are looking at and where.

Our dad had a comb-over and neither my brother nor I had the courage to tell him how bad he looked. Then, years after I was married, he spotted himself in a bakery mirror that slants down to show the cakes. Next day, he was at the barber getting it cut off. Yay!
