Reminds me of the time an officer (Marine Corps) tried to make coffee in the Shop urn… He thought the basket for the grounds was supposed to filled all the way to the top… About 10-12 times the normal amount.
A woman at our church used to make coffee and would put so many grounds into it, the grounds at the center of the pile would still be dry once the coffee was made.
When my buddy and I worked together on homework (in college), my mom would make a big pot of percolated coffee (that was the old days), 100% caffeine. We would use it to wash down NO-DOZ tablets. We’d catch up on our sleep next day in Philosophy class. Didn’t dare sleep through Calculus or Physics.
I know the feeling. I used to work at a print shop where every morning at about 10, a lady would pull up in a converted RV to sell Starbucks and pastries. I usually got a double shot and occasionally a triple shot if I felt a little extra caffeine would be useful. Once I got a quad shot, which had me pinging off the walls until about 2 the next morning…I mean, it was UNPLEASANT. Lesson learned: Limit exceeded, never challenged again.
I worked at an auto parts counter back in the day and didn’t drink coffee. The guys immediately decided the token female could make coffee for them in the morning. The first time I put as much coffee as I could in the filter. The next day, after complaints about the strong coffee, I put one teaspoon in for a 12-cup pot. I was never told to make the coffee again. For the record, I did know how but was not about to let them stereotype me.
