It seems Bill Amend has a science background, from reading today’s strip, as well as many others he’s written. Does anyone know? Was he a science teacher at one time?

I think if we really tried to do this it would be better to use bird DNA since birds are the modern day descendants of Dinosaurs…actually we can cheat by sequencing a bunch of bird DNA looking for deactivated dinosaur genes to bring back out.

If I remember correctly, that is what happened in the book. The researchers use the dna from a modern reptile that could change genders due to population pressure. That meant that that the cloned sauropods could reproduce although all of the clones were supposed to be female.

All of the “dinosaurs” were artificial and not quite like the originals. And I still wonder why the animals were so hungry for human flesh.
