I read an article from a United States Representative from North Carolina (not my district). It had the typical xenophobic Republican rhetoric about refugees.
In it she blasted Church World Services as a threat to national security because they were bringing in terrorists under the guise of refugees.
Let’s logic this out. I am a terrorist. I decide that I want to sneak into the United States, so I become a citizen of a country that has refugee status with the U.S. Then I have to get vetted by the U.N. Then I spend a number of months or years in a refugee camp. Then I get sent where the U.N. sends me: odds are better that it will NOT be the United States.
