It’s fun to use an well known gag, but is it mathematically accurate? With only a few minor exemptions, my wife and I ended up with an effective tax rate of just over 12%. My parents make twice as much as we do, and they paid about 14%. Hardly seems like a bite to the core. These feel like a fair shares to me. Still, good points about large corporations who won’t even give up a nibble.

Definitely not fruit of the poisoned oil well. No one takes a bite out of that.

This apple must be a citizen apple, not a corporation apple. If it was, it would come out twice the size.
