treesareus: Of course all food is genetically modified. It is also called evolution. In addition, there is natural modification (such as the Appaloosa or pop corn) which take so long, natural forces can adapt or eliminate them, and recombant DNA modification, which we cannot predict (natural evolution of pests is already outstripping DNA modification attempts to promote chemical pesticides).

Maybe Frank and Ernest don’t think “not sneaking up on them” is less work—since that is a hallmark of F & E — but cultivating and harvesting crops IS even more work ! But the gag in this comic is good for a few chuckles anyway. F & E always looking for that “save me from work” angle.

A small puny creature like man can only pursue and capture an animal that is adapted for flight from the African big cats by COOPERATION and language. It’s the complications of hunting animals that honed those abilities and drove the development of our larger brains.

Also it’s the making of stone tools to hunt game that refined our ancestors’ brains over a few million years. You don’t need language or the ability to make hunting tools to be a vegetarian.
