I am hoping common sense will prevail and the FAA and FCC will never authorize full-time cell phone usage on planes. The thought of a hundred or more people chatting mindlessly, including one on each side of you, for the whole flight…
It almost makes me wish for the old days when they just allowed smoking on flights. Not quite, but almost.

That’s why I like taking the train when I travel to NYC. They have a quiet car. No cell phones, loud talking, or crying babies.
You can complain to the conductor, and he has these people move to a different car. Too bad you can’t do this on the plane.
