Kids are required to take 4 years of math in HS and they never use most of it. But they have no idea how to file their taxes, how to understand insurance or investing or the stock market. They should teach useful subjects instead of 4 years of factoring polynomials. Very few people use algebra in their adult life, but everyone deals with taxes.

Algebra has real life application all over the place. Not using it is wasting your mind, not the other way around.

The answer is 4, and I miss algebra. Trig and calculus not so much.
