I had a storm combined with a passing vehicle rip my Comcast cable from my house, leaving it laying in the yard along with several pieces of plastic from the vehicle that had caught it going down the road. I had to unplug my modem and router several times to pacify the Comcast rep while attempting to explain the cable was laying on the ground. She never seemed to catch on, scheduling a repairman to further investigate why rebooting did not solve the problem.
