When I was in high school in the early 70s, we did that with military recruitment tabs for our friends.
Sounds like a mix-up in the adresses. The MAFI for Coach, Poodle for Mr. Spaetzle and the Monster Something for Mrs. Wormwood or now Olsen.
Calvin once did something similar, but for himself, blithely ignoring the fact that someone would have to pay for all those subscriptions.
