Frazz by Jef Mallett for September 03, 2009
Transcript:
Caulfield says, "If it's censorship when they tell you what you can't read," Caulfield says, "What is it when they tell you what you must read?" Frazz says, "We struggling to finish the summer reading list?" Caulfield says, "Struggling to find it. I think I used it to mark my place in "lonesome dove." "
I wonder if Caulfield has ever read Shirley Jackson. I was putting holds on the shelf at our library and saw a copy of THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE, and thought about what Caulfield would say about that pristine, perfect opening paragraph. (and the rest of the story, too.)
