There’s so much wrong with your ‘roman numeral’ I don’t know where to start.
I loved reading and writing the numbers out from the 80s and 90s. M (1000) CM L(50) XC IV so you have MCMLXCIV. That’s a real number and about as complicated as they get. Not hard to understand once you break it down. 1994.

it is a good thing that modern society uses arabic(indian) numbers, especially zero.

Tell that to the NFL and their nefarious Super Bowl numbering.

For cycling, in-line skating & increasingly skiing, helmets are almost compulsory; so why is ice-skating different?

C’mon, Jef; do you expect us to believe that anyone under about eighteen has even heard of Roman numerals?

Not sure how I did that, but if you mouse over the underlined roman numerals, it details what they are.

@masterskrain & defunctdoormat
101100011000011010100110 would be 11,634,342. And 1994 would just be MCMXCIV, with no L (or 11111001010 in binary).

…and for defunctdoormat…Super Bowl 47 in binary would be:101111

abilyeu: No L? It is still liturgical Christmas, even if the Mammonist version is over and they are already on Easter.
