Love the last line, Jef…Which can only happen after you realize you don’t need it…well, most of the time anyway….But I would advise people to become eccentric as soon in their life as they are able…That way people will expect it of you, and think it normal for you……“Oh, yeah, that’s Varnes. Yeah, I know, It’s.just the way he is.. good guy, though…”
Reminds me of a time in junior high that I lost my footing on a staircase and descended rather rapidly, but only my feet ever touched the floor. Two onlookers went “Ooooh” derisively, but a friend said, “He landed it; he landed it!”
Dignity is closely allied with humility, and they share the trait of being most rare where they are most wanted. If you have to choose, humility makes a better friend and provides more comfort.
Mightaswellbe, my Dad was in the circus..(elevated parallel bars? He taught me that the best thing to do is relax your muscles,,, And if you can, try for a tuck and roll to change the angle or momentum of the fall….
Like the Borg, resistance to the fall is futile. That’s how wrist and arms get broken and head bells get rung…Just relax, and let it happen….redirect it if you can But you are going to fall, so live with it…Relax and enjoy the ride….

No way, that’s the hallway. Just as shiny as Milford’s. Great job by my protege, Frazz!

Sorry, that doesn’t work for my joke. It’s an inside joke for fans of Gil Thorp.

Right there with you! My thoughts of the first panel were, boy is she going feel that tomorrow. But then again, she is a kid so…
