What I will do this summer... Boy: I will finish a 5k...bucket of ice cream! Frazz: You realize 5 kilograms is like 1 1/3 gallons. Boy: Oh. Then gelato or something else metric.
Ice cream is half air, so 5 kg would take up anywhere from 2 gal (Edy’s or Dreyer’s Grand) to 2.5 gal (“slow churned” or cheap generics). Denser premium brands or gelato might take up as little as 1.5 gal. A 5 kg bucket that takes up only 1.33 gal would probably taste like frozen butter.
