If there were snow on the ground and a clear sky, imagine how starkly beautiful it the scene would be….The reflection off the snow would make as it bright as day…There would be clear shadows at night!

Every celestial event of recent note has been rendered invisible by persistent cloud cover and rain. Meteor showers, comets, cupids and donners. We have, however, gotten our share of blitzen.

True full moon meaning the Full is at it’s apex. Often the moon looks full but it is a specific date that it reaches true full status.

Shirl, a little bit jealous here, especially on Christmas Eve…Wolf, it’s still a wide spread belief in schools and mental hospitals…..I’ve worked in both, and I never noticed it….But the moon effects the tides of very large oceans, and stranger things are true….

The full moon isn’t tonight, it’s tomorrow night. That’s why it’s called a cold moon. First one in nineteen years.

Whether intentional or not, I love that this poem is written in the same metre and style as Robert Frost’s “Stopping by the Woods on a Snowing Evening.”

I have to admit, though I have been looking around for an explanation that I can digest, I am far from knowing; unless it is as Shirl Summ says in his reply to you. That I can comprehend.
