Most of them have glasses, and a lot of the male ones exhibit male pattern baldness. And ink stains… though that’s gotten a lot less common now that they use computers.
Back to the kid’s question, maybe they would have if the historians from a century ago had spent as much time with a pandemic that took over a fourth of the population as they did with the war.
I’ve always been perturbed by “history” books spending so much print on government and politics while ignoring the other things going on in the lives of the general population. My local paper has a daily COVID-19 column with some new numbers and what someone thinks about the trend plus comments about how that interpretation is wrong. That’s followed by a dozen articles of he said, she said … Lord, how I hated Jr. Hi.
EVERYONE saw the pandemic coming when Trump lied about it being the responsibility of the states, and then sabotaged efforts of governors who attempted to respond with shelter in place orders.
Add to that, the refusal to use WHO test kits and failure to develop any alternative.
Plus the constant LIES, hydroxychlorquine is the cure, 99% of cases are harmless, testing causes cases, children are immune, etc.

Search YouTube for Edward G. Robinson’s actuary speech about types of suicide from “Double Indemnity.” One of the best bits ever.
