No, the pilgrims (which they didn’t call themselves) were extremists who did not want freedom of religion because they believed that theirs was the only one allowed.
Check your history, Friends. The first officially recognized Thanksgiving was held in Virginia in 1619 on land that later became Berkeley Plantation. It was officially proclaimed the first in Nov 1953 by President J Kennedy.
But, who, what, when, where matters little. We wish each of you and your families a very wonderful and joyous Thanksgiving and holiday season.
The Pilgrims were colonisers who were so stupid that 50% died the first winter and another 50% the next year. Then after a boatload of more people arrived 50% of the entire group died off again and it was not until the indigenous people gave them food and taught them how to build better shelter that the colony started to thrive. The colonists paid the natives back by killing them. And that genocide has never stopped.

Some of them were. Though if you think about it, they were mostly people who were NOT willing to settle, so they went looking for something better.

But naturally, she won’t have that attitude when it comes to Christmas presents. Settle for a Christmas sweater? No way!

When you can’t afford the food, you can gripe about the prices.
