I have a hunch if they were riper, you’d be munching away and would have no qualms about them being pilfered. You moved Dear’s golf ball for him soooo…
Oooo-kay :-) so let’s hope the twins will wolfe down every little bit of those unripe apples. That will teach ’em :-D !!! Already the amount of apples- if unripe or ripe- would give them the runs I think. Even more with the unripe fruits. Big belly laugh
Yesterday I saw by accident our last stork flying off to his long journey to the South. There were two storks flying very high in the thermal lift- they were only small dashes up in the sky above. I saw how our stork took off from his nest and how he got up amd up in wider circles to join the other birds. It was the last time I saw a stork yesterday and today there is none. I wasn’t sure if there was one on the nest last night- I could not say for sure that there was none lying there flat on his belly. So I guess what I observed yesterday was the first time ever that I saw one taking of for the big journey. This is very special to me. Right now I feel happy and a bit sad at the same time. Happy that everything went so well this year with the birds- no fights, no dead youngsters and sad because we will have to wait for months now until they come back. May they be safe and not get roasted on conductions of electricity (is this the right term for the things over land?) in the South, Balkan and the like. Or on the waste dumps in Spain.
People have commented that the Tucker Twins were less friendly to Fred in these early strips than in the later ones. This is sometimes true. They are certainly more mischievous than they would later be. Today’s strip shows them being mischievous but also friendly towards Fred.
My friends and I used to get into trouble from my Mom for ‘raiding’ the neighbor’s ‘raspberry patch’ until I took Mom next door so the neighbor could tell her that we were doing it with their permission and in fact, they wanted us to do it ! ! ! !
