When I was working we had crew meetings once a week to discuss rule changes, errors, outages, etc. This one manager, Lou, would always walk by, stand in the doorway and talk briefly, maybe tell a joke. One week a crew member, Carlos, came in wearing his National Guard camos. Lou walked up, saw Carlos and said “Has anybody seen Carlos?” Carlos waved his hand and in all seriousness said “I’m right here Lou!” We all laughed and Carlos looked around saying “What? I don’t get it.” Lou just shook his head and walked away.
As far as berating someone for wearing it unless they’re hunting or in the military, or labeling it lame or ugly at least it’s functional clothing. While I don’t care for that “look” I believe there are other fashion trends out there that are much worse. Wearing clothes that are three sizes too big. Or too small! Pajamas outside the house, pants halfway down ones butt. And then there’s High Fashion! I was at a wedding and saw a guest wearing a nice black dress but it had a white bow on the back that was so big she had to turn sideways to get through the doorway! I thought it was silly, she thought it was great. Wear what you want.
