They need to cleanup the humor in this place.

So they do use ‘canned’ laughter here.

a better comedian would require shovels

I haven’t seen that many ’ho’s swept up since that prostitution ring was busted.

In our universe we have to be concerned about noise pollution; this cartoon makes it clear that in their universe, speech balloon pollution is an equally serious concern.
