That’s the essence of pro sports in America. There is no sense of community. The players are pawns who are moved around from town to town. Coaches are fired at will. It’s basically just the jerseys. Unless, of course, the owner decides the city isn’t giving them enough goodies and threatens to move to another city (which would be just fine with me.)

My father always contended that it was the CITY, no matter what person played. It’s only been lately that we’ve turned athletes into gods.
