Before I retired, when I would work really late in my office some nights, I might go grocery shopping at 3:00 AM at the local 24-hours-open Kroger’s. Kinda fun; not too many people but for a few college students…. BTW, it’s probably a lot easier to buy a pumpkin pie: they’re everywhere this time of year!
Well, if we keep going to facebook, we will slowly get rid of those “mostly clueless hipsters” and that will make shopping easier.
RE: the Bill Brandt photo of the milkman delivering milk during the blitz. We Americans, the strongest nation on earth, are wussies when it comes to dealing with terror. We get so frightened, and say the stupidest things about the loss of liberty, because leaders don’t have any cojones, so they assume no one else does, until it becomes a self-fulfilling act.
was a chicago cop for a few years sometime ago…. always liked the :midnight shift… it’s a different world out there between midnight and 6 or 7am… ‘strange’ things happening…. ‘strange’ people out there…
Happy Thanksgiving to all, if you’re looking for a different holiday gift this mad season may I suggest this field guide to the American Bird:
