And the crowd goes wild! Until dinner time and they meet Chef Pierre. Then the crowd goes lame.

YAY!!!

I don’t think that kind of frog can bring its forefeet together for traditional applause. They have to thump something with a foot, or call out.

I’m only here for the applause.

Really big shoe. Marvelous, marvelous.

It’s a Frog Standing Ovation !!!

In an atypical show of mercy for those who require everything be literal, Teresa one day included both frogs and applause in Frog Applause.For obvious reasons, I have avoided Gasoline Alley ever since.

Down by the dam there was a pond, part of the county fish hatchery program, with a path along a levee that separated the pond from the Bark River. As you walked up the path, leopard frogs would burst from the bank to land in the pond, creating a wave of applause that would proceed before you as hundreds of tiny green bodies slapped the still water’s surface.

They’re in for a treat, eventually they are to become the guest of honor on a serving plate..

Finally, something that my walnut brain can comprehend. A good rest for tomorrow’s probable head-knocker.

And here all along we thought Teresa didn’t do requests.

Ever alert for hidden Frog Applause meaning in an Age of Meaninglessness and existential angst, influenced in my own unpublished (but of course; it’s crappy) work for the stage by inter alios Samuel Beckett, Jean-Paul Sartre, and Paul Claudel, I detect in this froggy scene of riotous applause a great hidden allegory of Bosch’s Garden of Earthly earthy Delights, in which Teresa satirizes and savages the vain hedonism of unreflective unidirectional lameness! And that’s just the first sentence!
