Well, I never! The hapless Titanic, with all those useless amenities. Tsk, tsk!
I did cross the Atlantic by ship both ways, once (though with a very long interval between “to” and “fro”), on some of the last ships making regular crossings. My one bit of advice resulting is, don’t cross the North Atlantic in mid-December….
I’m not sure what I’m waiting for. Froglandia to end as we know it? In a few minutes or so, the relaunch is supposed to kick in. What was that event when a new century kicked in and everyone panicked? Y2K?

A blown out of proportion cruise ship and an otherwise blown voyage.

But don’t you really want to be there to see something being touted as “The Largest Steamers In The World!”?

Never mind that coal fire that has been burning out of control in the engine room for 3 weeks.

yep… Have a look at Centralia, Pennsylvania.
Still not as famous as the Great Springfield Tire Fire, but pretty impressive.

Submarine signals? Yep. You’re going to find those very convenient, but not a lot of help.

The fire had scorched the outside of the ship, they parked it so that the scorched part would be on the far side as they loaded the passengers.
