Once I made it through a named storm, a category four hurricane called Isidore (2002). The storm was bad but what followed (2 weeks with no power or running water since there was no power to run the pumps) made me add a lot of other names, nouns and adjectives to the storm in questionâŠ.. in other words ânamed stormsâ are no fun⊠and to be exact no laughing matter either.
Funny how much one can learn from your comic strips. Today the lesson was that a âshawmâ was (is?) an Arab âsquealingâ flute used to keep marchers in step.

Storms are best appreciated from within the home, looking out the window, with everyone safe and warm and dry.

Some of those names are unprintable.

Into the bath with you, Kate. Itâs the best way to avoid a cold from all that water.

Poor Kate, but at least the fur babies are nice and dry. Wondering if Shawn has a pancake hangover from yesterday.

Big storm here yesterday. Just before it blew over a very powerful lightning strike hit nearby. Very nearby! Yes, I jumped.

I just noticed Sirius and Floofâs gaits in 2nd panel. You got it perfectly. Kitties do opposite foot lift, dogs same side. Good verisimilitude.

Has anyone here heard from Moonkey?

Iâm guessing some of the names Kate has for the storm are quite rude.
