I’m thinking more and more that Jim is preparing readers for Walt’s imminent demise. Know it’s coming…and is one of the hazards of the characters aging in the strip…sigh.
It occurred to me this morning that I have seen something like that Baby 2011 with cigar in mouth somewhere before…Moon Mullins’s nephew was it? or his little brother? anyway, his bed was a dresser drawer, and he always wore a derby and had a cigar in his mouth just like Moon….shades of notary sojac!

Kid 2011 does resemble “Kayo” Mullins who was Moon’s little brother who slept in the drawer.
