I really don’t like to gripe about story lines, but can we please get along with one and dispense with these inane jokes.

I would rather see Lil scamming somebody than read these corny jokes each day…………..PLEASE

If “Chubby’s” real name is Clarence Barrow, wouldn’t it have showed up on the bad check he gave Slim? If he called Slim’s mother’s “Aunt” that may make him and Slim 1st cousins.

Or, they may not be related at all. Refer his name to the police, Clovia. They just might BOTH have a record. Now things are starting to get a little interesting. 2 con artists in cahoots?

When a woman leads a gang of criminals in a nurturing way, she is often referred to by the honorary title of “Aunt.” at least that is my recollection.

We might be about to find out how Chubby fits into the family tree.

Any relation to Clyde? ( you know … as in Bonnie and Clyde Barrow )

Close, Hector. You’re thinking of Clarence Darrow, with a Dee.

    It’s “Darrow”. Check your Wikipedia.

Thanks be to whoever for allowing this strip to be in glorious black & white, the way that God and Colonel McCormick meant for comic strips to be seen. A lot of detail is lost when strips that were meant to be in black & white are coloured by colorists who decide for themselves what the colours should be without reference to what the strip’s artist and colorist have defined them.

I know GA is known for its slow-moving storylines, but frankly I miss how nuanced the characters used to be. Lil used to not be just some scam artist, Slim’s clownishness was less broad, and there were fewer random punchlines. And WHAT happened to Gretchen??

Dick Tracy and Gasoline Alley go black and white on the same day? Too good to be true! May they stay this way for a long time.

I honestly think Hector has been pulling our legs the whole day. He’s deliberately scrambling the names just for the fun of it. Just like we like say bascetti instead of spaghetti.

So, ‘Clarence’ like the angel in “It’s a Wonderful LIfe.” Somebody was predicting a tribute to that movie was in the offing— step forward and be recognized. I think you may be right!

Or he may be plain old Clarence “Wheel” Barrow, the getaway car driver for Upton O. Goode, before he u-turned to God.
