Welcome to Gasoline Gutter! The Alley has since been retired along with our beloved characters that once made this strip enjoyable. From here on out, Rufus and Joel will be the primary characters (if not the only ones!).
Instead of Gasoline Gutter, perhaps Gasoline Jar would be more appropriate – Jar an acronym for Joel and Rufus. In response to “ewalnut”, we can downgrade Slim and Clovia to Gasoline Sac!
It was sad that Jim chose to depict Slim and Clovia in such an unflattering way. Joel and Rufus are what they are and should only be featured in small doses. Again, there are so many great characters that have been developed in this strip over the years, it’s a shame Jim doesn’t see fit to feature them.
I, as stated before, am delighted to see Joel and Rufus featured strongly. They are a delight, and are always fun. The humor they impart is gentle and kind. I also really appreciate the skill and creativity of the drawing…. which seems especially grand with Joel and Rufus.

I wonder if the new Icon means that “Gasoline Alley” will be “ALL Joel and rufus – all the time” from now on?

Back to the gutter after one week with Walt. Too bad. Do people really like these buffoons?

I’d rather see Rufus and Joel than see Slim and Clovia acting like buffoons.

Yeah, people often fly high up in the air after tripping on something while watching their own feet.

If Scancarelli wants to do Joel & Rufus, he should do it, but he should make it a mission to find someone to take over GA

I hate Rufus and Joel, I’ll check in tomorrow and if it’s still Rufus and Joel I’ll check back in next Sunday.
