Having been married to an ex-circus roustabout, and learning a LOT about circus life and how the animals are trained and treated, this story irritates me. The inaccuracies are rampant, but I will only comment on one: The big cats are NEVER allowed out of their cages or the big performance cage. They may be trained, but they are NOT tame. Seeing the lion loose makes my skin crawl. Yes, I know this is a comic strip, but it is misconceptions like this one that prompted the demise of the Ringling shows.
