That’s a lot of bacon for Walt to bring home. And bacon goes great on a giant grilled cheese sandwich.

It’s a full classics update for the 20th:
(Reminder: LINK IN PROFILE)
By 1930, 4 million Americans looking for work could not find it; that number had risen to 6 million in 1931.
And it’s the start of 1931 when Walt has a very decent job opening to fill… I’m with Wicker, I don’t envy the man having to choose which desperate woman gets herself (and probably her family) back in the chips. Miss Facefullahair (actually, “Miss Rufus”) must have lost her job with wanted man-on-the-lam Abie S. Corpus by now, she was last seen in the story some nine months ago – giving Walt the key clue he needed to break the phoney will Corpus drew up, which led to the settlement of Col. Coda’s will.
Rick is gonna show Hipshot a thing or two about fancy shootin’.
Basil clears the girls out of the lab, so he can deal with his rampaging brother, by using the last dose of Black Orchid Serum available. (And then what, eyepatch man?)
Frank King could have subtitled his masterwork “An American Tragedy”, for how Skeezix has hid chances for greatness as a boy… grew up to be a war hero, survive years of combat and come home to marry a real sweetheart of a lady… and mostly downhill from there, grinding out a living in his two-stall auto repair shop and gas station, fussing every year about his tax returns and never seeming to have the money for even a first-class vacation.
And here we find he has some expansion plans for the Gasoline Alley Garage, which we pretty much know from other timelines, nothing will come of this either. So much unfulfilled potential, though you have to say it’s been a fairly happy life, if not all that wonderful.
