When they decided there were five “kingdoms” instead of just the two (animal and vegetable) I grew up with, I wondered whether strict vegetarians would only eat plants (as the word would suggest), or do they eat anything except meat?
In particular, fungus of any kind is no longer considered a plant. Does that mean vegetarians are not allowed to eat mushrooms or bread (because of the yeast), or to drink beer (ditto)?
Made the mistake of buying my cat “indoor” cat formula cat food when she became an adult and was gaining wt. after spaying. She HATED that food and would stalk the other kitten to eat her kitten food. Checked the label—no wonder! Indoor cat formula is based on grains and greens! What self-respecting cat would want that? I got her some Iams regular meat-based cat food and she eats well now. Eating meat is INSTINCT with cats! They are not biologically wired to eat “grains and greens”, for crying out loud!
Buttery and salty, I´m surprised he is allowed to say things like that considering how bad those two things are supposed to be. Now STRESS, there is a REAL worry.
Somebody should tell this to my cat — anything that I eat, she’ll try to steal. (I’m not talking just meat or milk based stuff, I mean things like potato chips or cake. She’s weird. Her favorite food is french fries. If I don’t give her a tiny little piece, she’ll try to rip it out of my hands)And yes, we feed her regular, ordinary cat food. She’s just a really, really strange cat.

Bucky CAN’T have veggies, He’s a carnivore. Human are omnivore and can digest meat OR plant, but not hello kitty…

LOL. “Don’t point that thing at me” has been a tag line for me and a group of friends since college.

Technically, every species is food-based.
Plant food is water, nutrients and sunlight.

What would Garfield Do? V8 juice? Probably.
Sandfan over 8 years ago
V8 juice is great stuff. I like mine with a double shot of vodka, a squeeze of lime, and a couple of squirts of Tabasco.

my cats love the indoor formula, they get very picky if I bring home the wrong kind.

My cats will eat the house plants if you don’t watch them.

Garfield is a cat, stupid.

the worlds oldest cat lived on a diet that included broccoli, if Bucky wants to see 32 like he did he’d consider it.

I have a couple of cats that will shred you for lettuce or spinach. One does love broccoli..

Oh, and I have another cat who tries to eat things like paper and the stuff from pillows. Cats are…special.

Sounds like Rob is one of those PETA delusionist who thinks any animal can go vegan.
RoseHawke over 8 years ago
Is Rob really that clueless? Cats are obligate carnivores, they can’t process vegetable matter.

Our cat brought home a chop bone from somebody’s garbage can.
