Bucky, if you’re going to go punk, real counter culture, you gotta go retro. Losing the one you just bought will be the best thing you ever did. All it did was make you look like a poser. Wear Satch’s old one, with all the dog drool and stink on it, and all the other cats will look at you different. Trust me.

2003 model? A peripheral reference to the fact that Bucky and Satchel are both well into their teens which, for their respective species, is the senior stage of life (and indeed, the exchanges between the two of them are markedly different in these Sunday installments than they are in the more aggressive reruns that appear Monday through Saturday). Good thing they have the benefit of comic strip chronology, in which time progresses at whatever rate best fits the plot line!

Asking Bucky if he’s gone mad is as dumb of a question as Ricky Ricardo asking his wife Lucy, “Are you crazy or something?”

“Mad…er?” It’s all about that little hesitation! Conley always makes me laugh!

If you’re going to stick it to the man, it only really works if the man doesn’t like being stuck.

What’s the sense in tying to look like a punk if the world doesn’t think you are?
