We had a short lived ‘Jerky Shop’ open in our small rural town. They offered many exotic jerkies, like from ostrich & buffalo. They also offered ones with a variety of ‘heat’, from mild to “where the hell is the ice cream?”. I thought they would make a go of it, but they only lasted about 6 months. Guess jerky is not something you sell a lot of in a small rural town.
I have to agree with NWdryad: cats are natural carnivores. I do not disrespect vegetarians or vegans. I’d be so myself if I had the self-discipline. But that’s not because meat is “wrong”. Nature itself is a predatory environment, with the food chain well established. I also note that in general, humans tend to kill animals for food a bit more humanely than nature… sometimes by enforced law.
A vegan is more than welcome to practice their dietary habits / beliefs… so long as no attempt is made to enforce such on others. Humans are omnivores. Cats are carnivores. Dogs will eat… well, let’s not go there. Fact is, nature itself denies that “meat is murder”. Or if it is… its tasty, tasty murder. Quick! Eat the evidence!
(The final two above lines are not an original… but meh. Still funny. : )
The point: Rob is outta line. Focus on yer own meal, guy, and let the cat enjoy his jerky. You, you… cartoon character! ; )

Cats are predators, they need to hunt and kill, even if it’s just a toy mouse

I heard one man say that he killed 70% of what he ate. I asked him about the things he eats without killing them first.
