I gotta check with Vito for the over/under date for Nana Clover’s crossing over to the other side. I don’t think she makes it to the new year. And I’ve got a wad of recent winnings to put up on it.
I don’t think Granny has to worry about a long, slow, painful death. Looking at that raging inferno in the fireplace I think the whole house will soon go up in flames. And speaking of raging, most people fly into a rage if they’re prevented from reading Mopped Up Thorp.
P3 Gil thought bubble: “Is the old sea hag room temperature yet? She’d better not be. It’s Festivus. It’s time to get out the aluminum pole. I have a few grievances to air with you, Mee-maw, before you croak.”
I guess Gil isn’t going to do it, so leave it to me to call a timeout to wish all of you a Happy Festivus. Bonus Festivus Mopped Up Thorp today. The “regular” daily MUT immediately follows it.
And then there are situations like KSUI and WSUI, both of which are in Iowa City (West of the Mississippi). Its the “current” rule, but was not always the case. Just like call signs used to have 3 letters (WLS and WGN in Chicago, KGU in Honolulu and so forth)
I thought Mimi brought Grandma back from “up north” and put her into a hospice in Milford. Is that where P3 is happening, or did they let her out? She’s supposed to make it into March before she shuffles off this mortal coil, unless the timetable has changed.
And don’t forget to change the batteries in your smoke detector twice a year, especially if you roast marshmallows next to a small bonfire in your house.
So, the next burning question is, does Gil call a timeout tomorrow for Season’s Greetings? Or just wish us well without the timeout? Vito has it 4-1 there’s a timeout for wishes, 2-1 there’s no timeout with wishes, 15-1 there’s no wishes at all.
My favorite in the past was when there’d be a basketball game going on for one or two panels, but then Gil would call timeout in P3 to wish us well.

The kwik-i-mart must’ve been out of chestnuts. Daddy, Jack Frost’s nipping at nana’s nose- inside!

“The kitchen table’s warm and dry” is an odd lyric. Even if the house is usually cold and damp, why single out the table?
