I believe it was Jason Chatfield who organized today’s Six Symbols tribute to the workers who have kept us going during the pandemic shut down. Is that right?
I have followed this comic for quite a while but never wrote a comment until now. As an essential worker, in the ER (I actually read this in between patients) and in teaching, I would like to thank you and all of the cartoonists who took part in the National Cartoonists Society challenge to use the symbols in their comics today (well, yesterday, since I’m writing this on Monday).

I’d scale it to something like 9,000 (DBZ reference).

I know about the six items, but WHY does Ginger have a shopping cart in his room? And I hope that snake isn’t poisonous, given they’re in Australia.

Very special thank you to all of these people, coordinated across over 60+ cartoonists.
The icons are:
1. Mask (for medical workers, first-responders and caregivers)
2. Steering wheel (the people who move our deliveries, supplies, mail and us)
3. Shopping cart (for grocery workers)
4. Apple (for teachers)
5. Fork (for farmers, restaurants and essential businesses that have stayed open)
6. Microscope (for medical researchers)
THANK YOU.
