I once did some handyman work in an office where one guy’s desk was literally covered in papers… about 4 inches deep in the center and tapered off to 1-2 inches at the edges. I asked one of his coworkers how he can function like that, and she said somehow, some way, he knows where everything is in that pile!
The president of the company I worked for dropped by, and my desk looked a lot like this one. He looked at it and I shrugged my shoulders. He looked at me and said that if he ever saw it clear and neat he would be worried the company was in trouble. We had a good laugh.
